A morning crash on the Redlands leaves one Grand Junction man dead and another with serious injuries.
The two vehicle head-on crash happened around 10 a.m. Saturday on Highway 340 at Mesa Grande Drive.
The Colorado State Patrol says 35-year-old Daniel Dunn of Breckenridge was driving westbound on 340 in a red Subaru, when he swerved into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with 77-year-old Leslie Frink of Grand Junction.
Both men were wearing seat belts but had to be extricated from their vehicles and were taken to St. Mary's, where Frink was pronounced dead.
Surrounding neighbors say it's not the first crash at the intersection of Mesa Grande Drive and the sound of the crash was jarring.
Dunn remains in serious condition and State Patrol believes speed to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
