A three car crash closes a busy intersection in Grand Junction and sends one woman to the hospital with "life-threatening" injuries.
The accident happened just after 10:30 Tuesday morning at 29 Road and Orchard Avenue.
Police say 46–year–old Carol Hahn of Grand Junction was critically injured when her car was broadsided by 25–year–old April Seitz of Palisade. The impact of the crash sent Hahn's car into the back of a truck driven by 32–year–old Ian Pitman.
Hahn was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with what police say are critical injuries. A four–year–old passenger in Seitz's truck was taken to Community Hospital with minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
The police department closed the intersection until about 3:00 p.m. while they investigated the crash. Initial reports indicate Seitz may have run a red light.
Charges are pending the results of the investigation and blood tests.
