Provo, Utah (AP) Attorneys are getting more time to wrap up a plea agreement for a Utah couple accused of driving their daughter to Grand Junction to prevent her from getting married.
Fourth district Judge James Taylor set a hearing for June 21st and canceled a trial that was set for July 9th.
Lemuel and Julia Redd of Monticello, Utah, are charged with second-degree felony kidnapping.
Their 21-year-old daughter, Julianna Myers, says the couple drove her more than 200 miles to Colorado instead of taking her to purchase religious undergarments on August 4th, the eve of her wedding. She says that at a rural gas station, they used force to get her back in the minivan.
She still got married, without her parents.
