Grand Junction, Colo. (AP) The names of two people killed in an Independence Day crash and fire along Interstate 70 near Wolcott are still being withheld, but authorities say that's because their next of kin haven't been notified.
The Colorado State Patrol says a Toyota 4-Runner was eastbound at about 1:40 Wednesday morning when it went off the left side of the road and into the median. The SUV then crossed back over to the right shoulder, flipped and rolled over before landing on its wheels.
The driver and a passenger both died at the scene.
Trooper Brian Koch termed the victims foreigners, and said it takes time to notify all of the family members in such situations.
Investigators say speed is a likely factor in the crash.
Authorities are also looking into whether drugs and alcohol may have been involved.
