It was a close call for two Grand Junction Police Officers early Thursday morning as a suspected drunk driver nearly hit them.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. on the I–70 Business Loop near North Avenue. The two police officers were questioning a pedestrian in the area when a Ford sedan drove by and went into the left lane to avoid the police cars. But the driver went too far, hit a center median, over-corrected and ended up rolling the car.
The unidentified 24-year-old man was taken into custody and later released to a sober party. Colorado State Patrol is investigating.
