City Council Looking At North Avenue Upgrades

North Avenue has always been an important passage, being a mixture of residential and commercial space, but it is in need of improvement.

A draft plan is being devised to determine the future of North Avenue as a whole.

The concept looks to give the corridor a face lift and to make it ready to handle the approximately 200 apartment units and more than 300,000 square feet of retail space that's projected to go up in just the next 10 years.

The idea goes hand in hand with the growth plan throughout the entire city which looks to tackle potential problems now before they get out of hand.

Public input for the plan will be taken in the next couple of months, with adoption planned for the early fall.
