The numbers are in and once again Harry Potter is on top of the world.

It's been a full 24 hours since the release of the seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter series. The book was released at twelve a.m. Saturday morning which prompted local book stores to stay open late and increase their sales staff.

Barnes and Noble here in Grand Junction has not put one copy of the book on the shelves, all of the books are being held for those who reserved a copy ahead of time. Another book chain sold 1.2 million copies of the new Potter book. It was their single most successful day ever.
