An emotional morning in court as the grandparents of a young child allegedly killed by his own step-father plead to the judge not to reduce bond.
Brandon Moore is facing first degree murder charges in the death of 23 month old Logan Acord.
In court Friday morning the defense asked the judge to reduce Moore's $500,000 to $400,000. The defense argued that Moore does not have a criminal past and has strong ties to the community.
In response, the District Attorney's Office presented pictures of the dead child to illustrate the amount of blunt force that caused Logan's death. Logan's grandfather also addressed the court saying he hasn't been able to work, sleep or eat since his grandson's death. He asked the judge to keep the bond set at half a million dollars and raised concern that if let out Moore would be living close by to the victim's mother and their three month old son.
After heavy consideration the judge granted the motion to reduce bond, but ordered that Moore live in Palisade with his grandparents and wear a GPS device. The judge also added Moore's three month old son to the list of people he cannot have contact with.
Moore is expected back in court in September.
