A Clifton man accused of leaving the scene of a fatal hit and run accident over the weekend was advised of his charges Monday.
26-Year-old Michael Ocampo is facing numerous charges including vehicular homicide in the Sunday morning accident that killed Mario Mondragon.
Police say Mondragon was hit by Ocampo's SUV around 2 a.m. Sunday on 30 Road between D and D and 1/2 Roads.
Earlier that night Mondragon and Ocampo had met up at a Grand Junction bar for a few drinks before heading over to a night club, where Ocampo reportedly had six or seven more drinks.
Mondragon died of his injuries at St. Mary's Hospital.
Judge Gretchen Larson set Ocampo's bond at $25,000, he will be back in court in early August for a formal filing of charges.
