A man was brought to the hospital Tuesday night with serious injuries after crashing his motorcycle into a guardrail.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. at 339 South First Street in Grand Junction and witnesses say the motorcycle was speeding down the road way. The rider struck the guard rail and was thrown from the bike.

He was wearing a helmet but reports indicate the rider was not breathing when emergency crews arrived on scene. First Street from Grand to Pitkin was closed for several hours while authorities investigated the accident.
