A Delta man is sentenced for killing his own mother.
Mark Grover received the maximum penalty for manslaughter. The 55-year-old will spend the next six years of his life behind bars.
Grover was arrested last September following the death of his 81–year–old mother Lola Readman.
Grover initially told police his mother fell during an argument they were having, but his wife testified he was high on typewriter cleaning spray when he hit her twice in the face.
Grover originally pleaded not guilty and was set to go to trial, but recently changed his plea. Other charges of assault on an at–risk adult and abusing toxic vapors were dropped.
