11 News Goes on Patrol with Colorado State Trooper

Soon after the four hour ride along began was the first stop. It was a simple traffic stop for speeding.

The next few stops were related out lights on the vehicles or speeding. One stop resulting in a DUI charge.

A man failed to yield the right-a-way. The driver appeared to be under the influence of some sort of substance and volunteered a roadside sobriety test, which he didn't pass. He did however pass a breathalyzer test, blowing a .021. The driver admitted to taking a narcotic, and it is unknown if he was on any other substance.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, as well as, given a notice of revocation for not consenting to a chemical test. The driver was then released to a sober party.
