Labor Day is a national holiday more than one hundred years old, and over that time it has evolved into the unofficial end of summer.

The lakes and parks are filled with people having fun, but many people are out celebrating a holiday that recognizes their hard work, and they don't even know it. Most think it's just a day off of work and school.
Labor Day is actually set aside to celebrate all the working men and women across the nation and to recognize their many achievements.

The holiday's origin is in New York in 1882, and was started by the Central Labor Union.
