DA confirms Grand Jury investigating large scale medical marijuana grow

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) - The Mesa County District Attorney's Office has confirmed a Grand Jury is investigating a large-scale medical marijuana grow in Grand Junction. The District Attorney isn't releasing any names at this point.

In March, the Grand Junction Police Department conducted a search warrant on Crete Circle. Officers found 1,084 plants in a building owned by local Realtor Sid Squirrell.

Police Spokeswoman Kate Porras has told 11 News in the past that investigators are working with the District Attorney's Office to see if any crime was committed and if the patient/plant ratio was correct. The District Attorney's Office has also confirmed the investigation to 11 News.

11 News has tried several times to contact Squirrell but has not received calls back. Hautzinger will not say if the Grand Jury investigation is related to Squirrell.
