Search Ends: Remains of Missing GJ Native Found

The remains of missing Grand Junction native, Landon Orcutt were found Thursday in Big Bear Lake, California.

More than a year after his disappearance, a hiker walking a dog discovered the skeleton of Orcutt near the lake.

The San Bernardino County coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Orcutt was twenty-one years old when he disappeared last July.

During the investigation authorities found a note Orcutt left stating he was going to Big Bear Lake to end his life. After this discovery, they searched by air, land, and water finding only his abandoned car.

Orcutt graduated in 2002 from Grand Junction High School and attended Vanguard University where he was a student of religious studies.

Funeral services will take place in Grand Junction at a later date.

We loved Landon dearly and were so sad at such a permanent choice in his life. I'm glad he was found. Landon touched many hearts during his short time on earth. He is missed so much!
