Young Humanitarian Gets Rewarded

A young boy is recognized by his heroes Wednesday afternoon at the Fruita State Patrol office.

7-Year-Old Chase Toliveer has been collecting aluminum cans for the past two years to raise money for his grandma who has cancer.

So far he's made about $140 dollars. He wants to be a trooper when he grows up so state patrol invited him by for a behind the scenes tour.

They also presented the youngster with a plaque and Toliveer says he just hopes his grandma gets better and that one day he can help fight crime.

If you'd like to donate to Toliveer's cause, you can email him at
