Reports of children getting injured on escalators may have some thinking twice about the kind of shoes they wear. Advertisements in Washington Metros are warning riders about wearing soft soled shoes, like Crocs. Toes have gotten stuck in moving escalators wearing these types of shoes. The ads in Washington feature a photo of a crocodile, but don't specifically mention the Crocs brand.
Last month a boy from Virginia lost part of his toe after his foot got caught in a mall escalator. The Colorado–based company who makes Crocs says those incidents are ``rare".
