NORWOOD, Colo. (KKCO) - Heavy rains in San Miguel County Tuesday were responsible for a mudslide that shut down a state highway for hours.

It happened about 3:00pm on State Highway 145 just outside of Norwood.

CDOT officials say water and mud flooded a stretch of the road near mile marker 94.

Crews working on a nearby rockslide mitigation project used their equipment to help clear the debris -- and got the highway re-opened by 5:00pm.

No one was hurt and damage was minimal.
