Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Grand Junction police are on the lookout for a man wanted for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

Police got a call Wednesday afternoon 4 p.m. that a vehicle was driving recklessly at high speeds down North Avenue. They found a car matching the description at the C&F store on 28 1/2 Road and North Avenue, but when they stopped to talk to the man, he jumped into his car and sped off.

Police say in the 1200 block of Ute Avenue, he intentionally side swiped a patrol car, which is where the assault charge comes in.

The suspect is a Hispanic male, 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was driving an orange PT Cruiser with chrome accents.

If you have any information, you can call Crime Stoppers at 241-STOP.
