Adults take to the diamond for kickball

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) It used to be for kids.

Kickball is no longer a sport enjoyed by your children in gym class. Adults are now kicking the big red rubber ball into the outfield and running the bases. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Go Kickball is an adult oriented kickball league for adults of any age.

"We have people from 21 years old to 55 or 65 playing in our league," said Scott Carlson, commissioner of the Grand Junction league of Go Kickball. "These people are having the time of their lives."

There are leagues in several states and several cities across Colorado including Denver, Boulder, Ft Collins and of course Grand Junction. The rules are simple, just like softball or baseball. Competition can be fierce but the main purpose of Go Kickball isn't who wins.

"This is a very socially elemented league," said Carlson. "It's meant to be very social".

There are about 100 players in the Grand Junction league and they're always looking for more players. The fall season just started and its not to late if you want to join. Just go to for more information on how you can join.
