TELLURIDE, Colo At about 1:00 PM 1 September 2013 deputies responded to the Telluride Airport. An incoming Great Lakes passenger aircraft reported a warning light indicated a landing gear was not locked down. Telluride Fire Department was paged to be on standby.
The aircraft landed on runway 27 at about 1:09 PM, the left landing gear collapsed and the aircraft skidded to a halt on the runway. There were 10 passengers and two crew members on board; none were injured. There was no fire or smoke. The aircraft suffered damage to the left engine propellers and the left wing. Deputies gave the passengers a ride to the terminal building, where they retrieved their luggage and went on their way.
A maintenance crew from the airline is enroute to assist airport personnel with removing the aircraft from the runway. The runway is closed until that occurs.
The National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the incident.
