JOHNSTOWN, Colo. (AP) -- The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has issued an alert for a missing 16-year-old girl who sent computer messages to friends saying she is in trouble.
Jessica Shepherd was last seen at 8 p.m. Tuesday. A few hours later, she sent text messages saying she was in trouble.
Johnstown police say the messages contained information that she was with a guy named "Dave" and was scared. She also said in the messages to "call the police."
Police tell KMGH-TV they are following several leads in the case.
