Clifton apartment fire displaces 9 people

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- An apartment fire in Clifton displaces nine people.

Around 2 a.m., Clifton Fire Protection District crews responded to the 2300 block of D ¾ Road for reports of smoke and flames.

Four apartments were damaged by heavy smoke and loss of power. Six adults, three children and five pets have to find another place to stay while the homes are repaired.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not been released. The Red Cross is helping those currently without a home, according to Sharon Miles with the American Red Cross.
