BLM seasonal road closures in effect

Certain roads in the Grand Valley will be closed during this time to reduce stress on wildlife and prevent road damage.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Bureau of Land Management has closed certain roads to reduce stress on wintering wildlife and prevent road damage during this season.

Specific BLM roads in the Grand Junction Field Office are closed to motorized use from Dec. 1 to Apr. 30 each year to protect big-game hunting ranges as well as road damage.

This closure includes: Blue Mesa, Beehive, Chalk Mountain, Grand Mesa Slopes at Horse Mountain, Sink Creek, Mesa Creek and the Lands End roads. Also, 16 Road will be closed at Garvey, Post and Lapham canyons.
