Bear on I-70 creates traffic trouble

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A bear is dead and a motorcyclist injured after the two collided on I-70. CSP says around 9:30p.m. Friday evening, a car traveling westbound on I-70 struck a bear near mile marker 46.

Next, a motorcyclist hit the bear. A third car also hit the bear, but there was no damage so it continued driving.

The right lane of traffic was shut down for over an hour while authorities investigated the accident. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Wildlife officials say the 400 pound bear was killed at the scene.
