GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Women who want to weigh out their birthing options had the opportunity to do so Saturday at the Bloomin' Babies open house.

Bloomin' Babies is a birthing center in Grand Junction. In Colorado they are one of two birthing centers in the state. Officials at the center say many women don't know what a birthing center is and they are opening their doors to explain it.

"An offsite out of hospital birth, but instead of a home birth setting, where we bring all the equipment to you and leave, moms can come here," said Patty Kandiko, of The Bloomin' Babies Birth Center.

Dozens of curious couples showed up to the event. Although Bloomin' Babies has been open for about a month, they want women to know they have birthing options on the Western Slope.
