MESA COUNTY, Colo. The Mesa County Coroner has identified the body found in the desert north of Grand Junction, off 25 Road, as Kathleen Stetzel. Kathleen was reported missing by family members earlier this week and investigators had been trying to locate her and her son, Daniel Stetzel.

Her daughter Lindsey said she was the one who found her body when she was searching for her, "My mother Kathleen Stetzel was a beautiful soul who never deserved to die. I should have never had to find her body in the desert. Everyone that knew her loved her. She was the most amazing grandma in the world. A passerby didn't find her body in the desert I found her body in the desert. I pray the MCSO find who is responsible for this."

They have labeled Daniel as a person of interest, and emphasize they want to speak with him about his mother. Anyone with information about Daniel or his whereabouts, should call 911 or non-emergency dispatch at: 242-6707.

The death investigation of Kathleen Stetzel remains active and on-going.
