BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say a 30-year-old Boulder County Jail inmate facing menacing, assault and auto theft charges hanged himself in his cell.
Cmdr. Rick Brough with the county sheriff's office says deputies checked on the inmate about 26 minutes before finding him unresponsive and not breathing at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday. The inmate, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Authorities say the man had been transferred from the Weld County Jail on Wednesday. He was assigned to a cell by himself at the Boulder County Jail.
