Boy hurt in apparent Colo Springs random shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Police were investigating a shooting that left a 12-year-old wounded in the leg in an apparent random shooting.

The Gazette reports the boy was inside his home Friday night. Officers were in the area investigating reports of gunfire when the shooting happened. Officers also found bullet holes in the house.

The boy is expected to recover.

Police found no immediate link between the boy and the shooter.

Colorado Springs police Sgt. Korey Hutchison says the shooting appears to be random.
