JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) -- The supervisor of the Bridger-Teton National Forest in western Wyoming plans to step down in March.

The Jackson Hole News and Guide reports (http://bit.ly/W0jU9Q) Jacque Buchanan sent an email to staff Friday alerting them of her plans. She says she has accepted a job as director of renewable resources at the U.S. Forest Service's Rocky Mountain Region office in Golden, Colo.

She plans to remain in her position as forest supervisor until March 22 and to start in her position March 25.

Earlier this week, Buchanan announced a proposal to split operations of the Bridger-Teton headquarters office between the current office in Jackson and a new office in Alpine. She says she doesn't expect the status of the proposal to change after her departure.
