Car accident sends one man to hospital via CareFlight

MACK, Colo. A car accident early Saturday afternoon sent one man to the hospital and temporarily knocked out power in the area.

Colorado State Patrol responded to the call of an Oldsmobile sedan that drove into a ravine on S Road and 6 Road near Mack.

The car hit a power pole and Bill Byers with Grand Valley Power confirmed 579 homes were left without power after the accident.

All power has been restored since.

According to CSP the Grand Junction man was transported to an area hospital via CareFlight to treat injuries however the extent of injuries is unknown.

The road was closed for two hours while authorities were on scene and the crash is still under investigation.
