Car rolls over after collision with semi-truck

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) At approximately 7:45 a.m. a semi-truck traveling east-bound on Highway 6+50 collided with a Volvo station-wagon that was making a right turn onto 6+50 from 24 3/4 Road.

A witness at the scene says it collided with the trailer of the semi truck.

The Volvo flipped over, rolled once, and ended up on the frontage road. The woman driving the car was transported to the hospital, and a dog riding with her was uninjured but taken by animal control.

Traffic on the highway was not interrupted by lane closures.

The Grand Junction Police Department is looking for help from the public to identify and find the semi truck involved. It left the scene immediately after the accident headed east-bound on Highway 6+50.
