GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Dozens of Grand Valley kids made some extra cash Saturday, while supporting soldiers overseas.

Oral Health Partners and Fun at the Dentist hosted their 5th Annual Candy Buy Back event. For every pound of treats, kids were paid a dollar.

The candy will be given to operation interdependence, who will use the candy as packing material for troops overseas.

Event officials say they collected 500 pounds of candy at this year's buy back.
