"Colorado Forward" RV tour makes GJ stop

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - Organizing for America is launching its "Colorado forward" RV tour on Thursday. One of the RV 's first stops was here in Grand Junction.

The tour follows the President's grassroots rally in Denver. Former Colorado Senator and now U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, Senator Michael Bennet and Senator Mark Udall are making the trip on the RV.

They say Colorado is going to be an important state when it comes to who will be elected president.

Speaking to Democrats at the Organizing for America office, Salazar emphasized energy.

“When we look at natural gas, for example, the President believes that we can create an additional 600,000 jobs," said Salazar. "We have a hundred-year supply here in this country, so there's a huge future in energy for the Western Slope, and we have got to do it in the right way. So we're very excited about what it all means not only to Colorado but to the entire United States."

On Friday, Oct. 5, the bus will be making stops in Montrose, Durango, Pagosa Springs and Alamosa.
