Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) --- Colorado is ranked as the most fit state among adults, but a study done by the Colorado Health Institute reveals an alarming rank for obese children in the state.

The Mile High state stands at 23 out of the 50 states in childhood obesity and researchers say they believe these obese children will transition into obese adults lowering the Colorado ranking for least obese adults in the country.

Local father, Michael Kitzman, said he wants his young son to stay active and healthy. He serves his son mostly vegetable based food and tries to make food from scratch as often as possible rather than going out to eat.
