GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Baseball and books, tonight Grand Junction Rockies fans were able to help District 51 by donating school supplies. The District 51 Foundation teamed up with the GJ Rockies for "The Home Run School Supply Drive" to collect supplies for students.

They brought one of their school busses to fill up with supplies, such as #2 pencils, loose leaf paper, 3-ring binders, index cards and highlighters.

"Great opportunity to combine baseball and the support of the Grand Junction Rockies with the fans that are participating in bringing in the supplies so we can have adequate supplies for the kids this school year,” Dan Prinster Vice President of District 51 Foundation.

If you didn't bring your school supplies to the game tonight, it's not too late to make a donation. The school district's administrative office is always accepting donations.
