GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Halloween was a spooktacular success at Mesa View Elementary School. Students there partied in their classrooms at the end of the day.

Many students wore costumes and the staff dressed up as minions from the movie 'Despicable Me'. The parties were a family affair with parents and siblings of students also taking part in the fun.

"Today is an awesome day for the kids because it kind of gives them a day to just relax and have fun and know that they can come to a safe place and also learn at the same time," says Jennifer Seale, a parent of a student at Mesa View.

Mesa View Elementary also had a "haunted house of fitness" in their gym, and other stations with fun Halloween activities.
