GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) -- Those interested in giving a unique gift this holiday season made their way over to the Lincoln Park Barn Sunday for the Alternative Christmas Fair.

Residents at the event were able to choose from 20 local nonprofits and 30 international nonprofits. Once a donation is made to one of the organizations, the person receives a card that they can give to a loved one over the holidays. Fair trade products were also sold at the fair, and proceeds are given to various organizations including the Grand Valley Peace and Justice.

"All the products that are represented here are fair trade, which means all of the farmers that grow these products are able to make a living; by selling them to us at a reasonable price, versus at a very inexpensive price," said Julie Mamo, who was working at the Alternative Christmas Fair.

More than 300 people attended the event.
