FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO) If a skull is found during a dinosaur dig, paleontologists celebrate the extraordinarily rare find with a feast.

With that in mind, organizers of this year's Dino Days planned the Feast of Skulls to kick off the more than 30-year-old event.

"Every year we're trying to upgrade it, to come up with new ideas, ways to keep the interest," says museum curator, Zebulon Miracle. "This year we really wanted to focus on really building up this feast of skulls event."

After Friday's kick off, Dino Days continues on Saturday morning with a family fun run and festival that begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m.

Dino days costs only 5 dollars for adults and 3 dollars for kids. Events include a brand new Jurassic-era themed labyrinth, a T-Rex styling salon, a dino dig and the Rockslide bump and jump.
