FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) A former Fort Carson soldier is getting the Medal of Honor for bravery he showed during a firefight in Afghanistan.

Army Staff Sgt. Ty Carter is being honored Monday by President Barack Obama.

Carter is being recognized for resupplying ammunition to American fighters, rendering first aid and risking his own life to save an injured soldier pinned down by enemy fire.
