GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Newly-attained documents reveal the amount paid to former Mesa County Administrator Chantal Unfug in her severance package.

Unfug’s employment contract shows that since the Board of County Commissioners did not give her 180 days written notice of her termination, she is entitled to six months worth of her current annual pay. When she first started in April 2011, she made $125,000.

KKCO 11 News obtained her contract through a Colorado Open Records Act request to the Mesa County attorney.

The county announced Unfug is leaving her post on Jan. 22, 2013. Commissioners say Unfug and the county came to a “mutual agreement” on her resignation. Tom Fisher has been appointed as interim administrator.
