GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) A robbery early Wednesday morning on Orchard Mesa has Grand Junction Police searching for suspects of the fourth such crime this month.

At about 3 a.m., a man walked into the Gofer Food Store on Orchard Mesa with a gun and demanded the clerk give him cash.

Since January, the GJPD has responded to thirty-four robbery cases and officials say, these numbers come as no surprise.

"That's what we typically see, a handful every month," says police spokesperson, Kate Porras. "That can be armed robberies or unarmed robberies as well."

Law enforcement officials are insistent these crimes are not an indication that our streets are any less safe than they normally are.

Police ask if you have any information about Wednesday morning's incident, call crime stoppers at 241-STOP.
