GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Get ready for National Park Week this week through Apr. 27. All National Park Service sites will waive entrance fees on Apr. 19 and 20.

This year, special events will be offered at Dinosaur National Monument.

On Sunday, Apr. 20, the first 100 hikers on the Fossil Discovery Trail will have the chance to find hidden “dinosaur eggs”. On Tuesday, Apr. 22, the Quarry Visitor Center will be having people sign a 50th birthday card for their stegosaurus statue. That evening, rangers will be showing a documentary called “Yosemite: A Gathering of Spirit”. On Saturday, Apr. 26, a flag raising ceremony will begin at the Quarry Visitor Center at 9 a.m., following games and activities for families. Later that evening, participants can go stargazing with telescopes in the parking lot.

National Park Week is a great time to get out and celebrate our parks, especially since there is free admission offered.
