GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Educating your teen on the dangers of drugs is a huge task parents face, but officials say it can help prevent them from falling into temptation.
Crime Stoppers of Mesa County and the Sheriff's Office are partnering to offer free classes to teens and their parents to teach them about the severe impact drugs have on developing brains.
Organizers say the class is designed for parents and teens to take together to have their questions answered.
The first part of the three part series of classes will focus on heroin usage among teens as it is becoming a growing problem in the county.
It will be held on October 22 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Canyon View Vineyards Church.
The second class is November 19th and the third is December 17th.
