Fruita Relay for Life kicks off the season of fundraising leading up to the event this summer.
Last year the Fruita group raised $30,000 for the American Cancer Society.
"Just want to get everybody jump-started for their fundraising and just explaining to them the programs and services the Amercian cancer society provides here in mesa county, and it's just informative, it's fun and it's just a celebration for the next couple of months for us to fund raise," said Community Relationship Manager Annette Burenheide.
The walk will take place May 31 at the Fruita 8/9 school.
