GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A longtime surgeon group here in western Colorado is adding a new building to help provide for patients' needs.
General Surgeons of Western Colorado broke ground Thursday afternoon for their new 10,000 square-foot facility.
The building will provide new technology and accommodate patient privacy.
The surgeons say we are growing as a community and they want to keep up.
"Our practice has grown, the valley has grown, and we are excited to have a new place to see our patients in a new modern facility," said Dr. Joyce Sekharan.
The General Surgeons started from a group of three doctors. The new facility will host ten.
The new land from the facility was bought from St. Mary's Hospital, providing a fit location next to their current one off 11th Street.
