GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Did you know that lead-based paint can release toxic lead dust in your home? Once a year, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services educates people about the dangers of toxic poisons.

During the week of Mar. 17, the department encourages people to reassess their homes for any poison risks. The Lead Safe America Foundation says there are an estimated 80 million homes that contain lead-based paint in the U.S. This can be very harmful to children.

Simonton Windows and Lead Safe America Foundation have worked together by sponsoring a series of short on-line videos to prevent lead-poisoning.
