Grand Junction, Colo.-- Two men have been indicted on homicide and manslaughter charges stemming from a hunting incident that authorities say caused a fatal crash back in October.

47-year-old Mark Valdez of Delta and 43-year-old Kevin Keener of Anton has been charged with multiple felonies.

It happened, investigators say on Oct. 12th when Valdez and keener tried to get an elk across Highway 92 using a chain rope. They put the chain across both lanes of the highway and attempted to pull the animal toward them.

As the chain was across the roadway, 34-year old Trever Rawson, who was on a motorcycle crashed into it. The chain knocked off his helmet.

He died at the scene.

The two are also charged with failing to render aid after an accident involving death. As they didn't call 911 at any time and asked a teenager who witnessed the crash to cover up their involvement.
