GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) --- Information for the uninsured will be shared at a handful of meetings this week to help folks understand the new healthcare options.
The "Nuts & Bolts of Healthcare Reform" group will be putting on the meetings in order to explain the new "Connect for Health Colorado" website, and how to obtain affordable insurance.
The site is Colorado's answer to the Affordable Health Care Act, but might be difficult for some to understand and navigate.
"People will be able to get Healthcare on October 1st," Scott Beilfuss of Nut's & Bolts said, "it will go into effect January 1st." So for the 28,000 plus uninsured in Mesa County, this is going to be a gigantic thing."
Here's a schedule of the upcoming meetings that are free and open to the public:
8/20; 6-7:30pm - GJHS Cafeteria
8/21; 6-7:30pm - FMHS Auditorium
8/22; 6-7:30pm - PHS Auditorium
Q&A session from 7:30-8:00pm after each
