Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – In a world full of video games and mobile app games, some gamers are asking you to put down your controller and join the fun world of tabletop games.

Recently a YouTube web series called "Tabletop" announced international tabletop day, where people will meet up and play games. Tabletop games are a great way to bring people together in the community.

"You're working together, everyone is cheering for each other, 'Yeah, you got the guy...' Or if it's going to be where they're competing against each other, there's the verbal sparring that goes on, for lack of better word. You know, 'Hey, I got you' and you can't get that over the internet,” says Carolyn Takos, who is a gamer.

You can celebrate International Tabletop Day on March 30th at the Jester's Court, here in Grand Junction located off 5th street.

The event starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 8 p.m.
